What file type do music tracks need to be in order to burn them onto a CD which can be played in an ordinary CD player. They are all currently .WMA files ripped from CDs into Windows Media Player.
Thanks

To play on a standard CD player the files are .wav
a lot of CD burning software will convert files to the correct type.

Do what I do, use a wind up gramophone, love those Vera Lynn records, get all tearful.

They are now doing a record player that you can connect to your computer, via the USB port! 'bout bleddy time too!!!
Vera Lynn? Know the name, but don't think I've heard anything from her. Might have done, listening to capital gold or classic fm on the odd occasion...

I'm very surprised some 'band' of today hasn't tried to remix that... Tis a good one tho. My grandpa had that one...

Personally, if I'm burning a music CD from music files I use iTunes, which automatically converts the music files. None of that Windows Media Player malarky!

If you already have a deck (or even if you dont, a cheap one is 35 quid), go to maplins, get a 2 pin to 3.5mm jack plug (£1.24) and plug that into your sound card. Will save you £110.

What file type do music tracks need to be in order to burn them onto a CD which can be played in an ordinary CD player. They need to be a plain PCM, 16 bps, stereo, 44 100 Hz sampling rate. Anything else will not be accepted by a CD player.
