Whilst I've never beeen to it and don't watch it now, it always brings back childhood memeories of watching it with my Grandmother on a Sunday teatime. The themetune then was an electronic version of Bach's Brandenburg Concerto no.3, made by the BBC radiophonic workshop.

Ahhhh it ruins Sunday TV!!!!! Funny though, when you see these kids with a big collection of postcards e.t.c. They think there gonna be in for a windfull. But the penny drops when they hear the value is around 40 to 45 pounds. But the expert says i am sure you don't want to sell such an amazing collection!! Though one kid was upset saying he bought this old record player for 200 pounds when it was only worth 15 due to it's condition lol

well some people think its just a way to get rich quick. The smart individual buys items that are actually worth more than he pays rather than some money desperate teen buying the first thing he see's in a charity shop window.

It's great watching them trying hard not to let the greed show through when they're told their item is worth some money.

The Antiques Roadshow did visit my town (Basingstoke) years and years ago, just after a big theatre/concert hall called the Anvil opened. My grandmother wanted to take something and she did, but the only time she was in it was walking past someone in the background for around three seconds. She never got the item valued and we had been there literally all day. She wasn't too happy, but there were hundreds and hundreds of people there.
