That bit Marty mentions is quite, quite revolting. It actually makes me feel ill just thinking about it. At least you get to see the insides of loads of old Northern line stock

It actually makes me feel ill just thinking about it. It is just a film with actors. Even if it was a documentary, scenes like that are often recreated (even if they do not say so) as it is very difficult and obtrusive to get someone to honk-up on cue. The usual method is to use the contents of a can of chicken stew, which the actor holds in his mouth until he is required to eject it. Once you know what it is it is, you will not feel half as bad watching it.

My Dad the Liar is quite good, plays Ray Winstone. I was quite shocked when I first saw it. I imagined it was me on the handle.....

I´ll start a new thread if necessary if T/ops don´t spot this...
Have any T/ops except for DD ever been involved in any special filming and/or where interviewed by TV?

I liked Tube Tales alot, but there were stories that were far better than others. My favourite story was the one where an old guy managed to rescue a bird at Highgate station, which was trapped underground.
The Shoreditch story was also powerful and morbid. One unders seem to happen every week, and the story hinted at the emotional impact on passer bys who unwittingly become involved.

The good bit about the old guy at Highgate was where he runs up the escalator and we're confronted by a passenger arguing with the barrier guy, he stops and just says "Alright mate, through you go"

I was filmed for both BBC and ITV local news about 15 years ago when there was an international conference in London about one unders. In addition to the interview, the BBC also filmed from the cab of my train from Baker St to Barbican, which then got used regularly as part of their 'stock footage' of the underground. I was also interviewed on both London Tonight/Today and a Norfolk based TV programme, as well as by the Daily Mail, but that was about my daughter, and was not railway related

I got filmed for Yorkshire TV in the early nineties. David Essex was on a programme where they asked what famous people would have done if they weren't famous and then put them in that job for a day. He said tube train driver so they took him to the old Railway Training Centre at White City and then laid on a train with a road trainer at Hammersmith. I pulled in to Shepherds Bush W/B to be met by cameras and lights, he got in the cab and I drove him to Hammersmith to start his day on the road. I also had a 'go' at a chap on High Street Kensington Inner Rail platform because he took my photo with a flash as I pulled in. The next day I was in the Standard under the headline 'Circle Line of Misery'. Great!!

I love 'Steal Away'... just because Simon Pegg's in it sitting in the assistance box. 'I'm sorry sir, but I don't make the rules...' I just love the way he says that line with this gormless look on his face. Makes me laugh every time. (Speaking of which, there's a CSA at Paddington who looks just like him! )
