Scientists like this obviously have way too much time on thier hands... Reminds me of reading a snippet in the paper about two high school students in the US who'd studied something pointless. It was so weighed down in stupidity, I forget just what they studied
EDIT: Just remembered they studied the reasons why people....... sneeze in different ways.

I think science has got to the stage where they've realised they've explored all the options available at present and are now passing the time until something new and exciting comes along. Obviously, finding a cure for bird flu or some other virus just doesn't quite cut it in terms of 'fun' anymore. :-\

All this reminds me of a show called 'Brainiac' - anyone ever seen it. It's about silly science but admittedly is quite funny.

Hey - I don't like science and still enjoy it! I do not suppose that this new found interest in science has anything to do with the fact that the show in question features a herd of scantily clad ladies with plunging necklines, whose main task in life appear to be running around in high-heels on uneven ground after having just blown up a touring caravan with the 'explosive-of-the-week'?
