It seems that Payroll Services is good at making errors and then correcting them. Glad that there is still some honest people out there!
To go with the £0.14p I got a while back, I got in from button pushing duties today, and found a letter on the mat. The envelope was enblazoned with the Underground Logo. i thinks it could be the answer/reply to my Uniform Query. But No. Opening it over a cup of Tea, I discover there are two enclosures and the letter: a cheque, and a complinments slip.
I read the letter, and am amazed at the trouble taken to refund me the amount miscalculated from my salary.
'We have pleasure in enclosing a cheque for £0.10. We trust this error did not cause you any inconvenience.'
Huh, yeah like I couldn't pay the gas bill.
I quite liked the look of the cheque; all those hash symbols in the Millions, Thousands, Hundreds, Tens columns.
I thought about framing it, but then decided I'd have a good chuckle paying it in at my Bank....

I thought about framing it, but then decided I'd have a good chuckle paying it in at my Bank.... .....so long as they don't charge you £5 for paying in such a small amount!

Still doesn't beat my compensation from the liquidators of ITV digital.
A cheque received after 2 years to the value of....
£0.01....
