American superstar Gene Pitney has been found dead aged 65 in his bed in a Cardiff hotel.
Pitney - who found fame with Twenty Four Hours From Tulsa - was pronounced dead at the Hilton hotel at 1000 BST. At least he don't have to worry about getting to Tulsa anymore. ;D

I can't claim to have been a fan, but I did see him a few years back at the Brentwood Centre (went there with my parents to keep them amused) Women were throwing their LARGE knickers at him.... think I saw a pair of 'Y' front being thrown too..... not mine I hasten to add Not my cup of tea pint of stella at all, but its a shame he's gone

Indeed, a sad day (although I'm not old enough to remember his music - I wish! ;D)
Always remember him on "This Morning" supposedly singing live when the backing track and singing had started but he was still just standing there waiting to mime to it! One of the funny TV moments!
