Anyone tried Subway yet???
A par better than KFC me thinks.
I tried the Italian BMT today. Bloom 'eck! I've never seen such a big sandwich.
I presume Italian BMT means
Bl***y Massive Thing Beat Me Today
Not bad for £3.70. This will be my next lunching place. Just have to see if there's one nearby Shepherds Bush or Leytonstone.
Hang on... did I say I was on a diet??? Oh well, thats that blown away then!

Oddly an friend who worked at Subway informed me of what BMT actually stood for in that sub. Boston Massachusetts Transit apparently... hence the sub - subway - BMT link apparently!
I do admit going there today though! Try a Turkey and Bacon Melt Wrap with salad and honey mustard (mmm... honey mustard! Must be calorie stuffed!) Supposed to be less carbs in a wrap they make though. Why does it have to be so close to Newcastle station?

If BMT is a subway annotation, whats IRT, IND then?
[from the Walter Matthau film, The Taking of Pelham 123, Robert Shaw, IIRC 1974]

Actually IRT is Interborough Rapid Transit and for IND read on en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Independent_Subway_SystemIn read this BMT may actually be Brooklyn-Manhattan Transit instead of something I may have made in my own head from being tired... which is likely.

Careful T/OP92 those subs can be quite addictive speacialy when you start "testing" all the different bread/meat/veggie combos. We have a commerceial over ere were some bloke actually lost a lot of weight eating just subway subs, I think with no cheese no mayo no.....nah that takes away allthe good stuff:-)

Why does it have to be so close to Newcastle station? Because there's millions of them in Newcastle... Well there's 6, but that's still too many (one of the main reasons I'm skint so often) ;D

I must admit I prefer a McDonalds or a kebab, but Subway is very convenient in Basingstoke as it is in the towns Bus Station. On my regular journey to work I wait 15 mins at the station so Subway provides a food option where I haven't had time to make anything, also somewhere warm to sit too.

I love the stuff Subway has, I'm in there at least once a week (I won't let myself go in there any more than that). Plus they give you free stuff.

Thanks to my mum if a shop is selling 'fresh hot chicken' apart from supermarkets and food stores try to avoid it, last time my mate got a cooked chicken salad sandiwch at upper crust in Kings X and was brining it all back up even at Leeds...

I am mildly worried by the name of Subway's parent company: Doctors Associates.
It sounds like some sort of dastardly plan to make everyone healthy.

3,70 £ for a Italian BMT (im shocked) very ->->->->-> to expensive £3,70 = €5,30 (formerly ~ 10,60 Deutsche Mark) a Italian BMT cost in the City of Worms (my Town) ~ €2,40 EUR that is ~ £1,59 GBP ;D Tubeoperator92, i think the Subwaymanager´s Hobby is "Swimming with Money" for the next Time -> go for a Cheaper Restaurant! for 3,70 £ become you (in Germany) a good food with a softtrink! for a Good food -> i visit a supermarket (my favorite is Sainsbury´s - what a pity, no sainsbury´s supermarkets at Germany - only the boring Markets (ALDI, LIDL ...) )! greetings Dennis Wenzel

Could just be that we in the UK will pay more for the same product... Yes.... same as with cars, restaurants, Macdonalds, domestic appliances and almost everything else. Because we are an island and cannot border-hop to make purchases, UK is a soft touch for most major brand-names.

Because we are an island and cannot border-hop to make purchases, UK is a soft touch for most major brand-names. try living in holland then!! most things (apart from tobacco and beer, amongst others...) are a bit more expensive than the uk (only one major supermarket chain, so not much competition) and the government hammers you at a basic rate of 42% income tax...unless you're an expat like me which allows the first 30% of my salary to be tax free...i wonder what the catch is though...! UK may pay more for some goods, but we do have pretty low taxation...its not all bad!! interestingly a subway sub is about €6 for a big one here....

Each subway sets its own prices - for some reason the one at Barking is relatively expensive!

Are they franchised?

Yes Subways are franchised. On my part I sometimes eat in the Bath Subway but I prefer KFC as it is less expensive.

That would explain the variation in price then .
