I have been having a problem with a program installed on my computer - now I can't even delete it ;D Can anyone offer any advice? The program is Net Objects Fusion7 - my operating system is XP (service pack 2). I have run AVG (anti virus software) through it, with nothing found. I have tried to delete it by going into the control panel, add/remove programs then high-lighting it and clicking remove. I end up with this message: The log file 'C:NetObjects Fusion 7\uninst.isu' is not valid or the data has been corrupted. Uninstallation will not continue. That is really useful Oh, BTW - the program came on a disc with a magazine and is a full version, but with no option on it to run a repair or anything. Colin.

You're stuck. The program uninstaller is broken, and unless you're willing to nuke the program directory and then dig up a Registry cleaning utility capable of removing the dangling Registry keys caused by such an action, you're basically SOL.

WHY would you want to delete it - It's a good web building prog and in terms of value for money(?) takes a lot to beat!
In terms of getting rid of it what's the issue? It doesn't impact on anything else and, so far as I've been able to ascetrain, isn't sinister even if not used.
But as THEOneKea suggests, if you do want to get rid of it, you'll have to go through the drive/programs/name/file etc process and do the delete that way (which is actually my preferred way of deleting most things!).

If you do want to clear out its registry keys etc then do a google search on it as I suspect that someone has wanted to do the same thing in the past and posted about it somewhere.

Yes it is a brilliant program & I have a site pretty much ready to go - but there's something that's obviously corrupt within it. It is stubbonly refusing to upload to my host, yet I can upload a plain HTML document without any problems. I have all the images etc for the site stored in a seperate folder - so it was just a case of trying to get rid of Net Objects, then reloading it and having another go. As it's all on my laptop at the moment, I might have a second chance via my main computer......

Had the following on my old computer, I wanted to free up some disk space [it was only TWO Gb]
I defragmented the drive, then tried to run Compression Agent. It asked me to run DriveSpace 3 before Compression can happen, so i found the DriveSpace3 program, clicked run and about 35 minutes later, ran Cmpression Agent. or at least tried to... You cannot compress this drive as it is a DAT32 Drive. Then why have the ******* program installed 'as a package' if is ain't gonna work? Before you ask, the drive was the original. I'm surprised the computer lasted 8 years with only a few [thousand] problems...

It's possible that the programme didn't install properly in the first place, Colin. As a bit of a long shot, you could try re-installing the programme again to see if it can install correctly, and then maybe it can deleted in the normal way.

This is not a good idea with Windows, except in desperation, as it leaves all sorts of garbage in the Registry.

Russ I tried that before my original post - it just put another version on and copied everything i'd done to it. So not only have I got a dud program taking up space - i've got it twice!! This is not a good idea with Windows, except in desperation, as it leaves all sorts of garbage in the Registry. I'm starting to get desperate!! ;D ;D I've tried everything suggested, other than playing with the registry's - thanks all the help to everyone that's replied, but I think it's just gonna have to sit there doing nothing Bloody computers , I feel a rant coming on!! ;D ;D ;D

Now that there are two copies of a rogue program on there, let us hope that it does not start replicating itself. If it doubles in size every day, you will have 2,147,483,684 copies of it on there in thirty days time!

If you just want to upload files to your website, you can do this with simple free programs like WinSCP.
It wont sort out your Net Objects problem, but it will get your website online.

I say was, as I have found the problem - windows firewall!! I'm not revealing the site address yet though, as some parts of the site are still missing (aarrrggghhhh), and my testing team have yet to see it in any real form. Once again, thank you to all of you that have tried to help - it was much appreciated Colin.
