Hi all this is my first post here so apologies if its in the wrong section!
Anyway noted on TOPS this morning was 60091 at Upminster:
60091 WCBN UPMINSTER 516T201407 C * WHITEMOOR N
I presume this is a new working using the connection with the Romford Line assuming it had come from the LUL Depot? Can anyone shed anymore light on this?
Thanks!

The last I looked, the connection at Upminster was still out of use pending disputes between Metronet and NR - has it actually been completed?

The connection is not complete - it's been in the same state for a few months now because of "signalling issue's".

Maybe I'm being thick, but don't we already have some links to the mainline, such as Amersham, Wimbledon, Richmond? Even if it involves a more circuitous route for D stock refurbs or whatever we want to move, can it be any more expensive than all the faffing about at Upminster?

Ah, but that one can't be used as Metronet wanted to charge Metronet $TOOMUCH for transferring D stock via that route...

So it's cheaper to use 6 huge lorries! No wonder we can't get freight off the roads...

Even if it involves a more circuitous route for D stock refurbs or whatever we want to move, can it be any more expensive than all the faffing about at Upminster? As I posted before in the 'refurbs' thread, at the December 2005 LURS Meeting the Presenters said in relation to this topic:- "problems with Network Rail continue to delay the work on the link at Upminster. EWS have the contract to transport the D Stock to/from Derby. As the Upminster work has not been finished, they are sub-contracting this work to transfer them by road. Even if the work at Upminster was completed 'tomorrow', the D Stock would still go by road, as approval for the use of Ruislip has not been given by Network Rail. Even if Ruislip was approved & the work at Upminster was finished, they would still go by road- as there are 40ish gauging issues on the rail route to Derby to be sorted by Network Rail first!!"
