You've just reminded me of the crushes that tended to happen at the junction of the main corridors in my old school, before the major building work allowed the use of alternative routes.
At lesson changes, most of the school traversed this corridor at once, which was a T junction with a set of stairs forming something like a crossroads. It got crowded very quickly. Progress was steady but slow, until some chavs decided that they were in a hurry, and started pushing.
The result was at best the students at the front being catapulted into the canteen, and I'm sure that there must have been some injuries over the years.

It's a funny world as, since then, I have become a Christian! Congratulations! All I remember about RE was watching films for no reason other than to save the teacher any work, eating sweets and learning about Judaism and Islam several times and in a lot of depth, with Hinduism and Buddism maybe getting one or two lessons. I think the Christianity lessons were on things like looking at teachings on divorce, looking at the women clergy debate (by watching a video on the "real Vicar of Dibley") and why the Youth Bible is excellent and you should all have one, and not the bits that actually matter, like the entire point. Good luck Joe! And remember: "Even the best prepared can struggle since the greatest fool can ask a question the wisest man can not answer" Or in other words - don't worry, you'll be fine!

Perhaps I should have shared this little nugget before:
In ANY science exam, if you get a question you really don't know the answer to, write
"Energy is lost as heat".
Believe it or not that will be the correct answer in more than 75% of cases! (so long as you're not TOTALLY stupid about it)

"Energy is lost as heat". or surface area to volume ratio or concentration gradient (that covers biology and parts of Chemistry and Physics) the other chemistry questions can be answered by "such and such is higher up the reactivity series than such-and-such" and the other physics questions are basically to do with Gravity. the mathsy questions will always have the answer 42, as the people who write these things think they have a sense of humour - the only hard thing in the whole of the exam is knowing the units and knowing what answer to put where. Other such gaffes involve being asked an effectively identical question (same formula, different numbers) more than once in the same paper.
You have to be careful that you don't spend too long trying to find which is the trick question - it's probably neither!

Heh cheers for the advice guys. The exams went ok, I think. But anyway, even if I did badly, nothing I can change now - just gotta wait for the results

"Energy is lost as heat". or ... 'energy can not be created or destroyed - only converted'? I found science fun until A level where they started introducing complex numbers and 'e' - if you dont know what they are don't go out of your way to find out!!

"Energy is lost as heat". or ... 'energy can not be created or destroyed - only converted'? quote] So true. Ask TOK about energy in the context of 'boiling kettles' ;D ;D

I've not actually noticed that before, but will keep my eyes open. If you put 42 as the answer and justified it, would they give you the mark ? I suppose it depends upon the examiner. Unfortunately some people love walking inside even in the summer - main corridors with a load of year 11s going in one direction, a load of y7s going the other way during break, and a large swathe of the corridor closed for exams in the adjacent hall... uck. I usually take the "scenic route" outside.
