Heard of many of them before, but if some chap with dark hair should bring a shovel of coal into my house, I would not for one minute believe it was good luck. I don't have a fire ;D
And as for a girl looking out the window first thing in the morning, my daughter does that most mornings. She is a bit young to be getting married though.

Well that depends on how superstitious you are.
Joking aside, I am slightly superstitious all year round, but I do confess to opening the door to let the old year out and the new one in. And I quite often step outside to breath in the new year air. And it's not always after a few drinks either ;D
