Hi all.
In the last issue of Modern Railways there are 6 pages consacred to the DLR and the possibility of a Charing Cross extension is considered by using the abandonned tube tunnel and station there.
Personnaly I would prefer to see theses installations used by a new east-west tube line or if the DLR really wants to go there it should in my opinion have it's east-west line converted to a full tube-gauge line.

G Force already posted elsewhere about the works required to open out, widen and upgrade the overrun tunnels at Aldwych and the Jubilee terminus at Charing Cross.
Personally I think it's a dumb idea - like yourself, I feel that someday it ought to be reused for some sort of east-west line. For now though, I think the Jubilee terminus is best left alone in the capable hands of citysig and Co.

Agree with the OP and TOK. A new east-west line is needed to relieve the Central and Charing Cross Jubilee would be very useful as an existing installation.
