I don't think these modern trains do enough in the field of ventilation. If you look at pictures of the old stock like 'F' 'Q' and 'Standard' they all had roof mounted ventilators which gave a cooling draught while the train was in motion. As the authorities and passengers are concerned about the heat in the tube I think those ideas should be reinstated.
It does not matter so much in regard to SSL stock but tubes stock it is essential. Especially if a train is stuck in the tunnel with a crowd on board for some time. Hot air rises so at least some of it will be vented out.

I only really use the Picc (out all the 'tube' lines) - and it does indeed have draughts around the tops of the doors when the train is in motion.
EDIT: not the actual doors, the area above and around them.

Well if you ARE shut down in shutdown then controllers should do the job and control. If it looks like a delay is going to be more that 15 minutes then the people must be got out after that amount of time regardless.
This, I should think, comes under the purview of HSE and 'risk management' and be acted upon. Call me an old fool but if you leave folk stuck in a tunnel for two hours and one or more of them has a health crisis like an asthma or heart attack then the firm will be to blame.
People who are kept in such situations have every right to AND SHOULD seek financial recompense from the operators for trauma, loss of earnings. inconvenience etcetera. They'll damn soon seek returns if an outside cause is to blame for an incident so they must accept their responsibilties too.
