OK, it's not strictly a Q&A, but to let you all know that series 3 of The Tube, will be airing on ITV London at 7.30pm from Thursday November 8th.
The series covers the 7/7 attacks and the recovery from them, as well as the usual other LU behind-the-scenes stuff.

I think your best bet is to wait until it comes out on Sky Travel (if you have access to it).

anyone know a way i can watch it up in beautiful Yorkshire? With Sky Digital there is a way to view channels from different reasons. I don't remember the procedure. See www.wildsat.com/index.htm which is a website someone sent me a link for (to do exactly this, but I haven't got around it yet) in January 2003

When I'm at my grandparents outside London I can watch London channels on Sky. IIRC they can be accessed from the 'All Channels' menu by scrolling up.

If I've understood that site correctly, then you need to have programmed them in first. The instructions look pretty simple though. That isn't the reason though that I'll not be able to see it - I don't typically get home unitl about 7:15-7:30 and then it is unusual for the TV to be free. My parents have siad that they'll be getting Sky+ though, but I dount that will be before Christmas (and unless we get a competent instalation engineer it will be a hassle getting it done due to the geography of this house).

ITV London is on Sky Channel 963 (here in Sunny Blackpool) so adding it in other channels is not required - also means u can add it to your personal planner on sky+ the usual 7 days in advance :-)
Steve
PS It's shown on TUESDAY 7th November not Thursday ;D

My apologies for stating the obvious, but next Tuesday is the 1st November, so the following Tuesday can't be the 7th unless the government have decided on six day weeks.

I know this sounds rather sad of me listening for such things, but on series 1 & 2 when they close for and return from the adverts break, am I right in saying that the doors you can hear opening in the background is a 1962 tube stock

I'd say a 73ts

We could argue the toss over that point forever, but it's definitely not a 73T/S.

Oh poo They get a lot of sounds and shots mixed up though, showing the same train arriving and/or departing twice etc or the sound of a 95ts approaching to something thats not even a train!

The door sound and compressors are too familiar.

I just recently watched the tube over here in the great white north. I'm thinking it must have been the first series. How many episodes were made, and have any of our illustrious members made it to the show?

How many episodes were made, and have any of our illustrious members made it to the show? I think it was; Six roughly half hour programmes on the first run, and again six on the second run. I can't seem locate my DVD at the moment. Its somewhere, over there, in ONE of those boxes... ;D

It should be a good series - in my opinion series 2 was a big improvement on series 1, if this continues series 3 will be excellent viewing.
