Cor! What a shocker!!! Beginning of August, I tipped the scales at 13 and 3/4 stones [about 87kg], having just this moment weighed myself again, I'm now a much lighter 12 1/2 [around the 80kg line]. I've managed to acheive this, by staying off the KFC at Shepherds Bush and that cafe at Leytonstone. No more choccy biccies in the lunchbox either. Gone too are countless bottles of coke and other fizzy drinks. The Flask comes with me every day I'm on the handle - no sugar either. I'm feeling quite proud with me-self. I'll celebrate with a jucy fry-up!!! [only kidding] Should now be able to walk a little bit faster at Epping when changing ends!!!

Does this mean I'll be dining alone at Maguires next time I'm up?! ;D Good luck, Bob. I'm going to try and kick smoking before long so I'll probably pile the weight on! Well done T/Op92! It's quite surprising how much weight you can lose just by watching what you eat and drink! If you want more excercise, I can reccomend doing one of my Olympia duties! Spend more time walking than driving!

If I can find a barrel to fit me I'll HI-VI paint it and come down and do a turn.

Gents Having returned from holidaying in Pathos (4* all-in hotel) I found I had gained 7lbs in a week. I'd also been on an alcohol diet as well - not good as I'd reached nearly 100kgs (just under 16 stone) My g'friend (Mel) had gained too so we've cut out alcohol completely (we've now been 5 days cold turkey) and have shifted the weight we'd gained already... I now intend to carry on for a month and see how much I can lose - my next drink will be at the DD meet on 22nd October We could all be a thin... well thinner bunch in no time at all ;D ;D

I'll bear that in mind, but it's just occured to me that, if I transfer to Leytonstone and get rostered to do the Waterloo and City Line, I might lose even more weight!!!
[goes off to weigh himself again... huh??? 78kg! Feepin' eck!!!] - last time I was below 80kg was just before I joined the service - strangely, I piled on 10kg in the first two years, since I stopped using the canteens, I've remained steady. Now I'm staying out of KFC, that Michelin that was around my middle has gone!!!

Here's a great way to stay off the fast food:
Watch Supersize Me, then do a bit of investigating into what's really in this food!
It put me off McDonald's for 8 MONTHS!!! Until my last day of school when everybody decided to go. But since then I eat it, once every month or two.
There's no point in doing a diet unless you exercise as well!

I haven't seen supersize me, but I still am not a great fan of fast food. In the past year I think I've eaten at burger king once and McDonalds once. The Burger King was when I got off the train from Liverpool to Cardiff about 3 hours late (the primary reason for the delay was allegedly "asbestos in the singal box" a few miles down the line from Craven Arms in Shropshire) and so I was absolutely starving (no catering on the train) and I didn't have any time to find anything else before the concert was due to start.
The McDonalds was at Frankfurt airport and was in preference to a Mexican-style fast-food restraunt with all the options written only in German (my German was definately not up to the task).
I'm still very overweight and unfit though - I eat to alleviate some of the boredom at work and do b*gger all excercise most of the time.

I have never seen it either. Did my own research. Griping stomach pains not long after eating food from either "major" burger provider, and knowing one or two employees has meant I haven't set foot in either establishment for years.
To be honest, a diet consisting of their food would probably reap huge benefits. I certainly lost a pound or two!
Much as I have always been more "wholesome" than most people, I have found that being married to a good cook has really done the damage. Not so much what she cooks, just how much she cooks of it. I don't believe in wasting it!
No, my dieting has now been put off until the new year. Christmas is too close for anything to work. Plus the winter months always seem harder. And biggest of all, I'm tackling the smoking first. It's been 5 days. That's 5 very long, very hard days. Alan and the other puffers here will know what I mean. But at least this time it seems to be working. Longest I've been without a cigarette in 10 years.

You're past the hardest part now, so there's no going back! At least now you'll be able to actually taste the delicious food your wife is cooking for you! If you manage to keep off the ciggies, I promise I'll never whinge on this forum about the Circle line again! ;D

And those of you that don't smoke (keep it up!), believe me it's bloody hard work kicking such a demanding habbit. For that reason i'm gonna back Alan and also not moan about the circles / Aldgate area as long as you keep it up

Well done. Keep on going. I'll keep it zipped on the Circles too. Around Christmas, I gave up the fast food, soft drinks, CHOCOLATE (well, I reduced myself to a bar a day - used to eat 5 or 6!!) and most importantly started to eat breakfast. Mainly shreddies or weetabix or something that doesn't include fat. Within 6 months, I lost 2 stone. I reckon if I start exercising again, I could lose the last 6 pound to reach my target.

No more going on about the Circles could make this place a bit dull, so maybe I won't hold you to it. But thanks for the support and the offer.
