(i think a Engineers Stock) greetings Dennis Wenzel They appear to be ex personnel carriers of converted standard stock trailers, painted yellow. They were used to carry staff engaged in working engineering trains. If you look below the windows of the right hand car it shows PC*** (PC standing for personnel carrier)

The track recording train was a four car unit comprising two DM cars of Cravens 1960 TS and two standard stock trailers. Upon overhaul in 1977 the old trailers were scrapped and replaced by a withdrawn 1938 TS trailer which was painted service stock maroon with white lettering, TRC 912 TRACK RECORDING UNIT. If you look carefully at the pics posted by Aldwych all the clues are there.

Was the 38ts trailer ever used? I know it was converted but I think I read it was unreliable and was never used for the intended purpose.
