Does anything ever get parked in the stabling point on the west side of Loughton station these days - where the Ongar shuttle used to be stored?

I always thought the Ongar shuttle was stored in its platform at Epping.

Nah, wouldnae of been left at Epping... what if another unit became defective in the other plartform? Thats the service stuffed there!
The Ongar Shuttle was parked at Hainault between service... after the AM peak, the unit ran back to Hainault and was changed over with another.

More often than not it was stabled on 21rd in Loughton sidings. It only went to Hainault about once a week on average, or if a defect required a changeover..

There was a scheduled 62TS 4-car passenger service from Woodford to Ongar everyday at about 3.30pm or thereabouts when the peak hour only Epping/Ongar timetable came in. I used to catch it regularly to Debden. I'm sure I also saw the same sized train running empty to Woodford from the footbridge over Roding Valley station on several occasions at approximately 3.15pm. Does anybody else remember this? It was before they started using the red Cravens up there.

Scheduled yes, but more often than not it was cancelled, meaning an early finish for the crew doing the changeover. When it did run it ran empty from Hainault Depot Grange Hill end to Woodford then service from Woodford to Ongar.

When Loughton crew depot closed, I assume that Leytonstone crews were similarly trained.

I seem to remember a crew out of Hainult (early morning) that ran to Woodford then to Ongar and became the second train for the "rush hour" service. Not sure which train went to Loughton and stabled for the day before going back for the PM "rush". Sometime around 19:00 one of the trains was taken back to Hainult. I worked the Epping/Ongar shuttle a few times, nice quite days they were
