I had the pleasure of using the loop yesterday when I went from Epping to Grange Hill.
I waited about 15 minutes at Woodford for my loop train to come and collect me from where it was positioned in the lovely sidings. I enjoyed the wait, in the sunshine.
What I always seem to find though is that all the centre doors are left open when I board. (Obviously where the T/Op has had to walk back through the train). As the train pulls out of Woodford all the centre doors slam open and closed.
On a positive note - some lovely scenery in and around Roding Valley, Chigwell and Grange Hill. I love the way also that the T/Op closes the doors so much quicker at Roding Valley - it's always so empty! Just a few tumble weeds!
;D

It's not uncommon for T/OPS to walk through the train and forget to close the connecting doors. Happened at Debden recently. It may also be a case of the T/OP slamming the door shut, and the catch not engaging properly. Hardly ever experienced it on the 1962 stock though - maybe those doors were easier to slam shut, and stay shut!

Well the 62 stock was a little more solid compared with the 92s!

Whilst there is a thread with this title....why was it shut on Wednesday evening? I arrived in London just after four and having made my way from St. Pancras to Oxford Circus found the platforms wedged solid and an announcement saying that the loop was closed. No formal thing saying why, just that you had to use local bus services.

I copied it down for some reason at the time: CENTRAL LINE: Suspended between Hainault and Woodford anti-clockwise with minor delays on the rest of the line due to a signal failure at Woodford. It appeared to be suspended totally by the time I got down there, but thanks for the info.
