The new Central platform(WB)works are going apace,a structure is starting to appear between the mezzanine level and the WB running line, they've also installed a pedestrian bridge over the WB Central to connect the DLR to platforms 3 & 5.

Is there a projected completion date for this new platform?

There are a lot of Sunday closures coming up between Liverpool Street and Leytonstone, so I assume that's to do with the new platform. Out of interest, why can't they run some trains in passenger service to Bethnal Green and reverse them there? I know that they send some there empty to ease the pressure on Liverpool Street sidings during these closures.

I imagine it would cause a lot of hassle at Bethnal Green. There would need to be more staff and a decent passenger service there and its probably not worth it! There is only one x-over and that could only handle a train every 10 minutes? It wouldn't be a bad idea to have a train every 10 minutes continuing to Beth Grn. with the rest reversing at Liverpool Street. I don't know what the replacement buses would do, I guess they would all start at Liverpool Street. What's the service like on a sunday in the central area-train every 5 mins (10 mins per branch)?

Well...
The run-in time ex-Liverpool Street is approximately 3 minutes, right up to the berthing at the PAC on the e/b. The T/Op will probably need about 3 minutes to change ends, and the traversal of the crossover and the w/b line back to Liverpool Street w/b is approximately 4 minutes (going by memory).
3+3+4 = 10 minutes. As a result, you could only reverse 6tph there unless you tried double-ending or forcing the T/Op to rush to the other end of the train. The one time I rode a train to Bethnal Green and back via the crossover, I remember the scheduling of trains as being very leisurely.

What will the frequency be from Liverpool St-west? Are there 2 reversing sidings at Liverpool Street or just one-I can't remember?

Normal Sunday frequency is 21tph. Believe that they will be operating a train every 4mins during rhe shutdown (15tph). Every 3rd train was extended to Bethnal Green (empty).
Also, the replacement buses only run from Leytonstone to Stratford - this is why I think Bethnal Green should get a train service, since it is the only station on the suspended section not to be given a dedicated replacement bus service, or alternative rail service.

The trend these days is for replacement buses not to operate into Central London. During the 80's and 90's, they used to operate to Liverpool Street when the line was suspended. The same applies when they suspend from Marble Arch to North Acton etc. The buses only operate aa far as Shepherd's Bush. They do, however, run a replacement bus to Willesden Junction for onward Bakerloo line connection to Oxford Circus though. This is OK for those who have found out about the closure in advance, but unfortunately, the average passenger is too thick to have done this, and thus finds themselves stranded at Marble Arch! Of course, the poor 94 bus then takes the strain!
