Hey all,
On sat when leaving ealing broadway the train op announced that due to a signal failure the train would be running at a reduced speed. And so it did until just outside west Acton. My questions are
What mode was the train running in (not coded manual?)
What went wrong with the signalling?

If the train was moving at walking pace, it was in restricted manual (RM), which has a top speed of approximately 5-10mph.
The reason why the T/Op was in RM was undoubtedly due to a loss of code - without the signalling codes transmitting the necessary info to the trainside ATO controller, the train won't move in any other mode.

There was a point failure at Ealing Broadway at about lunchtime on Sat Ah that would explain why the train in platform 6 was shut down and everyone was watching ours.
