The other day I saw 001 and 349 within the space of a couple of minutes. What were the first units into service back in 1993 - I believe it was 017 and 019 - weren't the first few units sent back for modifications before they entered service?
As an aside, the weirdest thing I ever noticed about the 92 TS in its early days was the fact that they couldn't display 16 os a train number - they had to use 160!

They've had at least 450 mods done to them since their inception... This mainly surrounds software.

I believe that this is one of the reasons that they didn't sent other stock to the W&C, to release their 92 TS for use on the central - they are so far behind in the mods, it would be like having 2 different stocks!

W&C 92's are a bit different - the main issue being the lack of ATO/ATP equipment, tripcocks all the way!! A number of drivers prefer them and do W&C nearly all the time, despite the very short route covered.
Also I believe the current shoes to be at normal level on the W&C, on the Central they are higher. I'm not 100% on that but it's the rough understanding I have.

Can't imagine anyone actually wanting to drive on the W&C! Any Leytonstone drivers out there with to comment . . .

There are quite a few regulars down there! A lot of people put it down to the manual driving, and the stepping back, meaning regular breaks from the cab (quite different on WER - EPP ;D).
