Does anybody know why the Tfl site doesn't have the departure boards for the Central line as the line has the most modern signalling system so far...?

I am not sure.. until recently the Central line never even appeared on Trackernet.. I believe now it does. Maybe they just needed to get one system to talk to another, hopefully it will appear soon when the iron out the kinks.

At Roding Valley, where my folks live, it would be very useful to have TfL departure boards. I live a 3 minutes walk from the station, and the trains aren't that frequent... I can't quite understand how the TfL site departure boards are helpful in most situations. If I'm somewhere in Central London on a computer, and I see a train in 2 minutes is going to Brixton from Warren Street, that isn't very helpful since it takes twice that time to get onto the platform from wherever I am, and the trains run very frequently anyway? ? Do people actually use them?

Tubetrack is an excellent bit of software. I use it a lot.
The Central was a late joiner to Trackernet, only very recently joining. I'd guess that once any teething problems are sorted internally then the external link will be introduced.

OTOH, TreacleNet, which the Central has recently had added to... is known for being a bit behind 'real time'.

Trackernet from my experience is normally very timely. Perhaps a second or two behind the real time, but not normally more than that.
