Did all three types have the same performance and stuff?

All of the prototypes had different equipment. I shall attempt to explain as best from memory...
Blue train, built by BREL, Red and Green built by Metro Cammell. Red had GEC traction, Green had Brown-Boveri traction, with Brush Electricals supplying equipment for the BREL 'blue train'. I can't remember anything about the traction motor hp ratings...

Despite the differences in electricals, they all appear to be compatible, hence the 8 car runs, unless they were isolated from each other.
I'm delving through my colelction of books to try and find out more info... Anything specific that you are looking for?

There were detail differences in the performance of each train, but for operation the software that controlled the propuslsion packages was set so they all performed the same. We tried, and usually failed to keep 2 6-car trains available for service with one 2-car from each train. The blue train was not allowed to run other than as a two car set as part of a 6-car due to worries about the fade characteristics of the motor mounted disc brakes.

Yeah, spotted a photo once of the two car red train sandwiched between the 2 car green and blue trains...
