Does anyone know the names and order of the GWR stations between Greenford and North Acton that were replaced by the central line? I did have a map of london from the 20's with them on, but unfortunately I cant find it now.
Many thanks

Greenford (1904-1963), Perivale Halt (1904-1947), Brentham (1911-1947), Twyford Abbey Halt (1904-1911), Park Royal West Halt (1932-1948), North Acton (1904-1947).
....according to Joe Brown's London Railway Atlas.

A book I can highly recommend Ben, is Jim Connor's book, volume 2 of his disused stations books [this one covers the GWR].

Cheers for that AGC You're welcome. An additional note re the present North Acton Station; there were also platforms on the GWR "New Road" (as it was known). These closed on 29 June 1947.

Old Oak Lane Halt.
A Halt existed between North Acton Station and the junction of the Birmingham Line and the GW Main Line at which some Push and Pull trains terminated before returning towards Greenford. On Sundays the Local Service from Greenford via Park Royal terminated at Westbourne Park or Paddington. Old Oak Lane Halt may have been mainly for the convenience of GWR Staff.

An additional note re the present North Acton Station; there were also platforms on the GWR "New Road" (as it was known). These closed on 29 June 1947. Any idea what numbers these were? I can't find any reference to the Central platforms being renumbered in 1947, so I presume that they were 3 & 4. A diagram from the Railway Magazine shows both parts of North Acton station with side platforms, and an extra pair of tracks between them - this connected the GWR west of the station with the West London Line south of Mitre Bridge.

The GWR was not as fastidious as LUL at numbering platforms at the smaller stations and descriptions such as "Paddington Platform " or " < Northolt Trains" would probably have been considered sufficient.
