Since the new time tables were introduced in ablaze of "glory" (i of course mean the shambles that caused the central line to be suspended). I have now started waiting around 10 minutes for a Ealing Broadway service as a succession of West Ruislip, White City and North Acton trains goes past. And surprise surprise the Ealing train is Rammed with other frustrated commuters when it does arrive.
I work shifts that finish at either 4:30pm or 6pm, and i don't think I'm the only person in the world that wants to go to EBDY at this time and i am certainly not the only one from Holborn.
Can someone explain to me how these timetables are worked out and why it appears to have changed from a workable frequency that (from what i could see) served each terminus equally, to the West Ruislip favoring timetable we have now?

On my recent travels on the Central, I came across the opposite - I wanted to go to West Ruislip and everything seemed to be Ealling Broadway. Just what happens sometimes. As for the time when WTT64 commenced, this was a time blighted by signal failures, and one episode which was caused by vandalism in the North Acton area. This wasn't anything to do with the timetable itself - indeed there are benefits, such as later trains via the Woodford loop and also more trains per hour to serve Epping - Northolt. www.tfl.gov.uk/tube/travelinfo/eta/This link has the dot matrix information for some LU lines, the Central is not featured as yet, but keep checking back as I have a feeling it will be added soon

I see what you mean Colin, but that was a computer thing, not the actual times in the timetable itself. Now everythings ok I imagine WTT64 is a satisfactory timetable.

Since it's been introduced the service has been running late all day ( including Sundays ) everyday. Too many trains, too many speed restrictions, trains breaking down. Ridiculous late night service on the loop with no one useing it. Not enough traction current, and..........!..........they want to increase it even more...........Daft......!.......

I think I've spoken too soon....................... I suppose it could be the same scenario from when the Northern Line changed from WTT47 to WTT48 - 47 lasted for some five years and was very popular with staff. WTT48 was introduced with a load more trains and the reliability and service levels took a big drop. WTT48 only lasted around eight months but the trend has continued with WTTs 49 & 50. I think it's most frustrating that it appears to now have been perfectly timed for when i come out of work. Hopefully things will run a bit more smoothly in future. When working on the station I am very good at trying to be calm and tell people that "Aww...it's not that bad!" when delays are occurring. When I'm on my way home though, I'm the worlds worst - "Four minutes....drat!!!!!!!!"

There are times when less is more. Look at the old peak hour all day timetable on the Picc. It was soon proved to be completely unworkable. If high levels of service works this well with the Centrals modern signalling system how is it meant to work elsewhere?

Actually I remember what you mean, it was the 1997 WTT (can't remember the number, was it 35?) and there were posters everywhere announcing a 24 TPH all day service. Didn't last long. Trouble is in these days of 'Money and Miles' such measures don't happen as much....................

giving the Hainault Loop a more frequent service comes at a price... something at the other end has to go to compensate... Yeah, i agree the Hainault - Woodford is not well patronised... Roding Valley is practically deserted most of the day!

I suspect this will partly be due to people not knowing/not having internalised that there is a service all day now. Habits take time to change.

exactly, the fact they have a later service, needs to be advertised for people to be aware it exists... otherwise they will still go on thinking it finishes around 20.15!
