Can someone explain the fascincation with drivers on the central line who when stopped at a station inisist on pressing the darned announcement buttons time after time after time, so we get;
"This is Marble Arch....this is a central line train for Hainult via Newbury Park......(gap of 5 seconds)...This is Marble Arch....this is a central line train for Hainult via Newbury Park......(gap of 5 seconds)...This is Marble Arch....this is a central line train for Hainult via Newbury Park......(gap of 5 seconds)..." even sometimes when the doors have closed and the train is in the tunnel it's still "This is Marble Arch....this is a central line train for blah blah blah"
Is it because they are bored? Or are they trying to drive us nuts??

I wondered about that today, had ''This is a Central line train to Epping'' [doors shut, train moves off]''This is a Central line train to Epping'' happen to me a few times.

Sometimes I go there In morning peaks ...
"This is Marble Arch, this is a Central Line train to Hainault via Newbury Park (repeated about 5 times)" >>Loud clicking noise, gruff t/op voice<< "This ain´t a bluddy Hainault via Whatsits Park, it is in fact a Woodford via bluddy Hainult!"

Lol - well, surely that's the T/op's fault for not programming the destination in properly??

[turns round on office chair - looks at tube map on wall]
Can't find that in the Stations List. Which two stations is it between?

I´d rather say "bluddy button pusher who can´t get his fat rear of the driving seat"

Is it because they are bored? Or are they trying to drive us nuts?? Ah! I know the answer to this. When the Train stops, the driver opens the doors. By operating the door open buttons, this sets the DVA off, if the train op presses the door open buttons more than one, the DVA says what it has to say that amount of times, which is why you end up with such messages
