...........Woodford via Hainault. And how!!!! When she says the first syllable of 'Woodford' It's as though she was told to say it as she sat down on something sharp.

Speaking on Sonia, has Sonia's voice been changed over the last few years, to something deeper? I swear I remember 'her' to be higher in inotation and voice, especially in the 'This train terminates at Hainault, via Newbury Park'. Now, its a little bit deeper, and the inotation seems more realistic.
Has Sonia been changed over the past few years to a 'better' sounding, more realistic voice?

Probably just the aging process! But honestly with all these audio editing gizmos and whatnot there are these days, I'm sure they can do just about anything...

Haven't noticed the change in the vocals myself. Can't hear much when in the cab, what with track noise, wheel squeal, ATO command 'clicks' and radio banter. Much better when I make the announcements myself...

Lots of the original announcements were changed in the past few years to the LU-standard bland Emma Clarke, there was originally a different one on the Central line as well as the Circle and Bakerloo / Victoria.

Nope - the autoannouncer is called Sonia, alledgedly because it 'get's on ya nerves' ... apparently!

Further to this thread from 11 years ago, I have received the following email today:
I am about to reply advising that the forum is happy to correct this inaccuracy.
Additionally, the squarewheels page the hyperlink link point at does not make any reference to, or claim that Simon Mayo is married or related to Janet Mayo.
Kind regards
