EDO is that what is used on the FGWLink turbos? If it is i have to say i would not mess with those. They seem to be particually evil. I have seen people stuck in them they dont seem to be in too much pain but i would not push my luck in those.
Also noticed in the Bakerloo train i was in yesterday that they seem to be replacing the door runners. The one i was standing next to looked particually shiny and new. As did the one opposite.

A large percentage of train failures are due to door problems, so replacing door runners is a relatively cheap way of increasing trai reliability for the PPP infracos.

On C stock there is a way to produce a chime without actually closing the doors. I do this especially when busy to forwarn people, Is that done by pressing the other side door close buttons? Is it just C stock this works on, (if that is the right answer) or can all stock do this?

Sometime last summer I was on a Piccadilly Line train at Covent Garden I think it was (usually notoriously overcrowded).
The train was the most jam-packed I can remember, yet two or three blokes ran in and easily plugged the gap.
I'm surprised they even managed to get in! Even though we were holding the doors in the hope that those people would become unstuck and budge out, it seemed like a minute before we were off again!
"There's always another train in a minute" - can't people see that it's pointless trying to squeeze into a train that can't take any more passengers?

Don't think it's been mentioned, but since this thread was started, the Central line door closing chimes have been modified. They now chime for about 2 seconds before the doors actually begin to close.
