Would an I/O's name badge say (for example): Joe Bloggs, Train Operator or Joe Bloggs, Train Instructor/Operator? Sounds like a silly question but I am curious

I think, though i don't have a name badge it would say: Joe Bloggs Intructor Operator Just looked on the "Name Badge Standards " Intranet page, as you do when you're bored on nights got engineers in and cant get forty winks ;D and that looks about right

You can also have mine. It's not an I/Ops badge, just says Train Operator and me name!

I binned every name badge I have been issued with, within seconds of getting them. I don't want everybody knowing my name when they can report anything from the train number.

I have to agree with you there Jim. I managed to 'obtain' an older type badge, just has the line colour and Train Operator. The new one with name and job description is still in its little plastic envelope in my locker!

It's very wrong to have a persons name on any badge he wears IMO. If the name is known it can lead to internet searches of where a person lives. [or the attempt to] and that can lead to worse. All that is needed on a badge is how we used to have it. Your grade and staff number

You are allowed to have any name you like - it doesn't have to be your real name. I'm still waiting for mickey mouse ;D ;D
