Title says it all
Please could someone post a complete list of all the three-letter codes for stations? I suspect many of our members don't have access to them, and the LU staff understandably use them in posts.
Thanks
Phil

I think a lot of the time if a station is one word in length, the first three letters are used (eg Hainault - HAI), if two words the used it's the first from the first work, and first and last of the second (eg Rayners Lane - RLN), and a three word just the initials (eg Tottenham Ct Road - TCR). I have seen this method come up quite a lot.
There are exceptions, for example I have generally seen Cockfosters described as CFS.
I have seen this used quite widely.

This system is only used on the Central line in connection with the signalling. Any other use, such as calling Cockfosters 'cfs' in a post is actually incorrect.

There is a code map on the internet somewhere. Not too sure of it's URL though!

Nearly but not quite: that gives the numerical codes, but not the letter codes I was thinking about. I spent ages earlier trying to get them off the net myself: allegedly they are on TFL site but I couldn't find them.

I've had a look on the main search engines, and nothings come up about stations. I've got a list of the ticket barrier error codes if anyone wants that but nothing about station codes.

I tried googling as well with no luck. I also tried the TFL journey planner, but realised that those codes are unique to each station on that system - e.g. Waterloo is WAT on one line (Bakerloo I think) but WTL on another (Jubilee iirc).
Apprently Network Rail's system covers LU stations as well, using two letters previxed by Z. The LU system is not compatible with the NR one as STR is either Stratford or Stranraer depending on who you go with.

As I said above, only the Central line has an official system - that's why there is no further information!!
Edit:the extra bit that tubeoperator92 posted is basicaly what we use in connection with duties, so is only relevant as far as depots and sidings are concerned.
