Am I correct that before the D78 stock - it was R stock (silver) and before that (red stock) was it Cp or whatever. My minds gone blank.

In pre D stock times the District consisted of Q, CO/COP & R stocks. R stock trains being unique in the fact that they ran in in three different liveries, red, unpainted aluminium and painted aluminium.
