On the Chalfont & Latimer Shuttle on the Met, and on the HSK - Olympia Shuttle on the District, how many of these can a driver do in one duty?

There are no restrictions on these. A driver can drive these trains for up to 4 hours and 15 minutes. An Upminster Driver does the last 6 Olympia's on train 152 on Saturdays, that's about the longest stint we do, west end drivers can spend all day on them **snigger**

So how many times could a west end driver visit Olympia per day given their whole shift is based around it?

A few Acton duties for Jim to snigger at:
322 Start Ealing Depot - Ealing Broadway - High Street, then 5 trips to Olympia, 6 to High Street. Get off at 0953.
323 start Ealing Depot - High Street, then 6 Olypias and 6 High Streets. Off at 1008.
353 picks up ECTW at 2108, then 6 Olympias, 6 High Streets, then on the last trip goes to Ealing Broadway and into depot.
On a Saturday, 318 duty does 7 Olympia/High Street round trips, and then 328 with 8 round trips! 336 also has 7 round trips, but then goes to Ealing and depot, so making it the worst one (4 hours 5 mins)!
Luckily at Acton, we have a list of drivers who like doing the Olympia duties, so you can almost always get rid of them if we want!

Why would you like doing Olympia duties? Makes no sense to me! Nor me! ;D I almost always swap mine away! The people who do like them are people who like to read or do sodoku puzzles etc, or who like to be close to Earl's Court in case of any problems. They must do more walking than driving!! Indeed they do! Handy for us smokers though! Olympia is a NR station, which means we can have a smoke when we're changing ends.

I have spoken to a couple of EC drivers who say this is the same reason some EC drivers like doing Edgware R - Wimbledon. The expression I was told was: "You're never far from home if it all goes wrong."
