Back in 1986 they had those 8 cars of experimental stock running on the jubilee [The Rainbow Express] Red, blue, & green. These were the prototypes for the Central line stock. Can anyone tell me which of the three colours the 1992 stock was eventually based on? Or was it hotpotch of all three?

From what i have seen and read it is a bit of all three.
These and the 95/96Ts seem to be the last of a line of bespoke units to run on LU

Am I right in thinking that unit 16 is the only car still in existence (being at the LU museum @ Acton).... the remainder having been scrapped.... Does anyone know when the other units were disposed of and where?

All that i know is that dissappeard rather sharpish after a mishap an Neasden... Got a pic somewhere... Dunno where they were scrapped, sorry. Probably Booths in Rotherham, or Mayer Parry in Snailham, Suffolk [think its near Thetford]

IIRC it was Booths. Does a whole unit survive? I thought it was just one car.

Does anyone know when the other units were disposed of and where? I beleive they were scrapped as some had a design flaw in them, that re-appeared in the 92ts a couple of years ago at Chancery Lane.
