Now you have a 6 car COP stock train and all seems normal. Compressors are banging away as usual and MG's are functioning as they should. However on one of the middle cars of a unit there are no car lights. All the rest of the train has the lamps blazing away like billy-o at the normal intensity. No matter what you as crew do you can't get the lights in that car to work. You even take a bulb out and try it another car and it works. So you have a car completely without illumination.
What is the defect?

Are the lights in COP middle cars fed in series or parallel?
Are the lights in COP middle cars (i.e. ones without MGs) fed via the aux jumper?
Are the lights in COP middle cars fed through the battery that leaves one set of lights on all the time?

Are the lights in COP middle cars fed through the battery that leaves one set of lights on all the time? 1. parralel 2. yes 3. no To elaborate all 3 cars of a COP unit had lights fed from one MG

In that case my first theory would be that one of the aux jumpers was either damaged, loose or completely disconnected.

Second theory: the switch for the lights in that car is broken.

One switch controls all the lights on a 3 car unit

To answer this defect [which everyone seems to have given up on] It was simply that the lighting fuses on the car concerned had blown
