Yep, 40 is about average.
The Trains which have the highest capacity of seating on LUL are the A Stock, with 54 Seats + 4 tip up (ex-guard) seats in the Driving Motor cars and 58 seats in the Trailer cars.

4 tip up (ex-guard) seats in the Driving Motor cars and 58 seats in the Trailer cars. They aren't ex Guard seats, the guards seats have now been removed on refurb.

As Jim says, they are not ex guard seats as they were removed on refurb. They are utilising space to its maximum potential

I wonder if anything was left behind those guard's panels when they converted the A stock to OPO.
What sort of seats did the guard have?
