After a day wandering the Capital, I arrived at Dean Street entrance to TCR Elizabeth Line around 6pm to find the service just shut down due to trespassers on the tracks west of Paddington. I decided to get to Stratford, recalling that when Liverpool Street terminus had problems, the old service would reverse at Stratford to provide normal services to the east. However, the other end of TCR was jammed with confused travellers, perhaps with similar aims. So, I took the first bus to King's Cross for a Circle Line train to Liverpool Street, changing there for the Central Line. At Stratford I was disappointed to find the service from there also suspended, with the next expected train an hour away! Who knew if that forecast would happen, and how crowded it would be. So, my final plan was to retreat to Mile End for a District Line train east and connecting bus service. I am disappointed that some residual service could not operate, as could be done before all that investment and modernisation.
