From the start of service the Elizabeth Line has been severely disrupted with no service from the start of traffic between Paddington and Abbey wood. Disruption expected to last till at least 3pm according to Network Rail. All this due to late running engineering works. Anyone know exactly what the issue is?

"Engineering train went bang" according to someone on a different forum who is an Elizabeth line CSA. Whether that was an explosion, collision or metaphorical bang they did not say.

An engineering train spilled fluid quite a distance in the tunnels. Required specialist cleanup and a few test round trips before opening around 2PM.
Now there’s a track fault at Stratford, all Shenfield services to run from Liverpool St national rail.

So it was two faults, with one being a broken rail. I was baffled by the different messages I was seeing and hearing.
anyway, I was on that route yesterday and had my camera with me - fortunately I was not seriously delayed but Real Time Trains shows 30 ish minute delays from Forest Gate to Stratford - this affected both Greater Anglia and Elizabeth line trains.
My Tweet ran out of characters so was somewhat abbreviated.
