I have noticed that the northbound platforms regularly give incorrect information - both the timings and whether the train is fast/slow.
Why is this the case?

There’s a thread about Customer Platform Displays which might be useful This can happen (according to the thread) when different signalling systems need to “talk” to each-other (CBTC, conventional signalling, and also the different machines and data feeds within conventional signalling) I don’t know enough to answer this question but maybe someone else will? The CBTC<>conventional signalling switch-over is currently at Finchley Road, which is reasonably far away from Harrow-on-the-Hill (presuming that’s your station)?
