Hi All, I've had a search of our archives and even discussed with our heritage team however no one seems to know anything about this unique detail that I've noted only on the westbound platforms at Bounds and Wood Green. Hence I'm turning to the knowledge of this forum; Can someone shed some light on this? Bounds Green: Wood Green WB:

Interesting, I've never spotted this at Bounds Green. I too would be interested to find out more. Perhaps a mod could move this post to Station Related Matters where it might receive a bit more attention?

As a quick guess, was that where the guard originally stood to signal to the driver, as it appears to be roughly in the middle of the platform so he could have seen both ways?
The tiling in that banding looks Leslie Green, too, so does it date from that station's opening in 1932?

I did think it might be related to guards. A little odd that they are both of differing sizes (three vs one nosing) when the nosings appear to be originals. No other platforms in the same section of the line which have the original nosings have such detail hence I was hesitant to chalk it down to the guard position. I'll also have to confirm exact meterage of these two as I'm not sure if its exactly half way through the platform.
