Having seen photos of many stations from the 70s and 80s, I’ve noticed that most of the suburban/rural stations were painted with bright colours, e.g. Chesham being yellow and sky blue, Grange Hill being red, white, and blue, and Chalfont & Latimer being a sort of aqua-green. My question is, when did they start to repaint these stations in historic/line colours, and why?
