Work on eastbound scissors crossover to west of Northfields platforms, for trains from Heathrow and Depot. What are they doing that takes five days? Westbound trains to depot will be OK, but eastbound from depot must have to work to westbound fast platform and then crossover to the eastbound fast to take up service at Acton Town.

It's a full renewal of the scissors crossover which is located under the bridge. The renewal uses the LU 'Baby Kirow' cranes for the first time on a P&C renewal and there is limited clearance for them to work under the bridge.
Five days for a job like this is not unreasonable - I was the signals Tester in Charge for the first two modular scissors crossover installations at King's Cross and Earl's Court and the combined track, signalling, and power works for both of those took six days (and seven nights).
There will be no train service to Northfields in this time - the WB fast will be needed for the Engineer's Trains servicing the P&C renewal site. The days of running a train service three metres away from staff on the track undertaking major engineering works have long since passed - and rightly so.
Trains needed to operate the working timetable will have to come from Uxbridge, South Harrow, Acton Town, Arnos Grove and Cockfosters. There will be no access for service trains to and from Northfields Depot which will almost certainly be part of the possession with traction current off.

Westbound trains to depot will be OK, but eastbound from depot must have to work to westbound fast platform and then crossover to the eastbound fast to take up service at Acton Town. Help me here please to understand these works. I'm assuming the expressions 'fast' or 'express' are a left-overs from the days when the District Line (the original railway through here) ran on the outer, or 'local' tracks at South Ealing and Northfields (analog from Ravenscourt Park to Acton Town) and from 1932 the Piccadilly ran mainly on the inner of 'fast' tracks. Is that correct? Incidentally, on Friday 29 Dec. the Heathrow T2,3 & 5 bound train I was on ran on the 'local'(?) track from Acton Town to Northfields overtaking a Rail Adhesion Train there. Also, can someone explain the irregular numbering along this section Acton Town and Northfields' platforms number 1 to 4 Westbound platforms to Eastbound platforms whereas South Ealing numbers 1 to 4 Eastbound to Westbound.

Does this mean Uxbridge to Acton Town will still operate?

similar closure night of Fri 24 Feb-Sun 26 Feb; no services Heathrow/Uxbridge-Hammersmith. Is the work starting at 00.45 on Friday 9th Feb as the TfL website suggests that doesn't start until 02.00 on Saturday 10th Feb?

Wording in initial post updated to clarify

What service is being run in tph on the line during the closure? Are more trains running to Uxbridge/Rayners Lane as a result?

What service is being run in tph on the line during the closure? Are more trains running to Uxbridge/Rayners Lane as a result? And where would the trains for that come from? Northfields Depot is closed, so near enough half the fleet is unavailable.

Just wondering if these works at Northfields show that the line upgrade will retain the four-tracking west of Acton. There were plans to simplify the layout. Also west of Turnham Green when the Picc takes over the Ealing Broadway service upon resignalling.

This was work on the crossover between the eastbound fast and local lines wasn’t it? Since the eastbound local (outer) line is used as a test track, you’d think they’d need that for the new trains!
