Those type of stop markers are used on the Jubilee - the Northern ones tend to have the two big black arrows pointing into a green area.
Bond Street?

It's one of those you either know or you don't unless Mark Smith RMT rep is a clue and even then you have to know who he is!
It could be almost anywhere in a tube section.

I'm not sure why I think this, it's a shot in the dark and probably completely wrong, but Bank (Central Line) WB.

The cup affixed to the board tells me you're within 10 mins of a tea point (or how long does it take to drink a cup of tea)

I often forget my teas and then go back to them an hour later...

Liverpool Street eastbound Central Line?
There is half a mayday procedure sticker on the stop board there, i'm sure...

Having thought about it - Liv. St. does actually seem quite plausible; wherever it is the transition is from station tunnel to brick lined tube.
My initial guess at Archway is wrong, because the tube IIRC [1] isn't brick-lined there.
It wouldn't be Liverpool St. E/B as the widening work was done in iron segments, so I'm gonna say that it's somewhere on the original part of the Central London - possibly Marble Arch.
[1] If I Remember Correctly

I don't know, but I know it isn't Bank WB, Marble Arch WB or Liverpool St EB.

I'm definitely going for Central, and I'm thinking possibly Oxford Circus W/B.

[1] If I Remember Correctly It's interesting how you talked yourself out of the correct answer on an incorrect premise, especially as you knew that the tube was CI rings! It is a fact that most tube CI rings at head and tail walls on the original tube sections were filled in with brick and in many cases also plastered over. Usually this would be for one complete ring presumably to achieve a nice finish to the tunnels as viewed from the platforms. However, in some cases the brick linings fill up to the first 10 or so rings as seen on some parts of the Northern line for instance.

Is the answer definitely Liverpool St? I know I said it was, but I was there today, and the stop board doesn't look quite like this photo - aren't there white tiles partly behind it? Or is this a very old photo?

The photo is not an old one, it was taken at approximately 23:21 on the 6th of March.
That time of night indicates that I was heading home, so it was definitely an eastbound Central Line platform, but as you say Liverpool Street platform has white tiling trackside. I don't have any photos to hand of this bit of tunnel though so I can't be certain the tiling runs out.
The only other photograph I appear to have taken that day of the tube was at Chalk Farm, which suggests that it could be Bank station as that would explain why I was on the platform as it would be the logical interchange. Again I don't have any other photos of this bit of Bank station readily available to cross-reference though.
If this is Bank, the the winner would be TFC. My apologies everyone.
