Just out of curiosity, why does Uxbridge’s Platform 2 go completely unused?

Signs there tell T/Ops to use platform 3 on the other side of the train because the OPO images for departure are better. That dates back to the platform monitor images. I don't know whether the in cab images in S stock are good enough both sides, but the same practice is used on both Picc and Met trains. CSDE provided is both sides since there is a platform both sides. Actually I'm only sure of that for S stock, Picc CSDE may be set up only for one side.

I would have thought the issue was solved with the introduction of the S Stock, but I would take a wild guess that it will only be when the 73 stock is finally withdrawn, that there would be a far better case to open doors on both sides.

Signs there tell T/Ops to use platform 3 I'm confused! How can the driver decide where the train goes?

Signs there tell T/Ops to use platform 3 I'm confused! How can the driver decide where the train goes? Platforms 2 & 3 at Uxbridge are separate platform faces either side of a single track (22 road). The sign is simply instructing the train operators on which side of the train the doors should be opened.

Thanks. I knew there must be an explanation other than the driver getting out and changing the points as if she or he were in a cartoon.

Apologies, I thought my mention of S stock CSDE both sides would have made it obvious there is a platform both sides of the same track.
