Not sure which is the best board to to post this in but either way I figured I should ask about this here. The below tweet contains a piece of footage from 1996 with a DLR unit in what seems to be an experimental white and turquoise livery which just happens to be quite similar to that being applied to the new B23 trains (which is why I wanted to post about it). Unfortunately, it's very hard to make out the unit number. The leading unit can be identified as no. 60 but the other unit's number is blurry. My best guess is it's something like 40 or 48. Does anyone have better evidence for which unit it was or, even better, a clear picture of the unit in that livery? link if tweet doesn't load

Which raises the question are the retained units to be modified to match the new trains?

I wouldn't be surprised if the B07s got repainted into a simliar livery for consistency. I never understood why a red livery was chosen in the first place.

Unit 45 was available for service from November 1995 in turquoise and grey livery, reliveried after its derailment at Canary Wharf in October 1995.

The original artist's impressions of the new trains showed two more adventurous colour schemes link

I never understood why a red livery was chosen in the first place. To match the buses. Someone probably lumped it in with 'public transport'.

Here's a couple of photos of the white and turquoise B92 from postcards published by the London Underground Railway Society, presumably in the mid-late 90s. From the postcard captions, I believe this is Westferry, which has changed enormously since. And this is Gallions Reach. The postcard caption describes the livery as "corporate petrol blue, achieved by means of self-adhesive plastic sheets applied over the original livery"

Good photos. Interesting how the bars below the doors were turquoise on one side but retained the original red on the other (assuming that this wasn't something that changed between the two photos being taken).

Unfortunately that link is behind a paywall, could you find another source No paywall for me (I'm not a paying subscriber, maybe its because I rarely visit their website) - I've printed it as a pdf yes, two alternative liveries. I think I might prefer them!
