Yikes, that is confusing!
I suppose it could be worse - there are quite a few Actons to choose from (North, South, East, West, Town and Central) and the sign only names three of them! Also, when one takes into account the colour of the signage it is possible deduce that this is the Central line - which only serves North, East and West Acton stations

I'll not mention Acton Bridge though.................. oops I did. Useless piece of information that one might only find use for in a particularly eclectic pub quiz, is that despite the complete word 'Acton' appearing in those 8 stations names, there is only one other station*** currently open containing the text string 'acton' in any part of it's name - Clacton. To which one wit once commented Clacton must be on the Central Line (CL-Acton)  ?!?!?   < runs for cover > *** at least AFAIK; no doubt someone might find one. But note I said /open/. |
