Over the past couple of weeks i have noticed what i think is a four car 67 or 72 stock stabled on the access road to Acton works.
It's in LUL livery (could be old northern refurb 72) and covered in graffitti although some of this has been rubbed off.
Also the other night i saw the interior glowing so there is some kind of illumination going on.
Does anybody know what is to happen to this unit or what it's being used for?

Has the 1972TS TRC been moved to Acton Works from Northfields? Or could it be the 1972TS from Aldwych?

Has the 1972TS TRC been moved to Acton Works from Northfields? Or could it be the 1972TS from Aldwych? Well, if the train is covered with graffiti the train isn't from Aldwych because that unit has to be clean for the shooting.

Has the 1972TS TRC been moved to Acton Works from Northfields? Or could it be the 1972TS from Aldwych? The 72ts at Aldwych isnt in Corporate Livery. The 72ts from Northfields - A car of 72ts was seen (in corporate livery) on a back of a lowloader in the Acton Town area yesterday, apparently it looked brand new, this I am guessing is part of the 72ts that was in NFDs, going away to Wabtec to be fitted out as the new TRV. The train down he reception road is too dirty for the low loader option!

The 72ts on 25rd is an unrefirbished mk1 from the Northern line. Several units were painted in various liveries to guage and choose a final design for the corporate livery. These units were never refirbished as their days were very much numbered as the 95ts were about to be delivered, so these units were put into store or scrapped alongside their bare counterparts. As you have seen, this one has been stored somewhere and open to the elements as the dirt and graf can testify. The 72 i saw on the back of a low loader yesterday is from another 72 stock train, but this car has been taken from a different unit and tarted up ready to recieve its gubbins. EDIT: oops, sorry MA, seem to have repeated you.

It certainly isn't the new TRT, 'cos I'm looking at it right now. It's still on 20 Shed and definitely not in corporate livery.

This unit has been in the works for a while, some photos of mine taken in July last year are on Dave's main site.

Well obviously it is there for a purpose. So what, in the service fleet, are they short of that it could be converted to?

I believe the 72TS motor cars for the new TRC were taken from the units stored at Hainault.

So that brings up a new question. What was a 72ts doing on a low loader leaving acton works and where was it heading? It was freshly painted in corporate livery. It could have been either a 67 or a 72 mk1 or 2. Was too far away to tell.
