Hi all
It is not a burning question, but like many of the threads I have started is simply based on noticing something out of the ordinary. When I travelled in to and then out from Euston yesterday evening on National Rail services, I noticed several class 378 units parked at Camden carriage sidings, a little way outside the station. I know LO units use these sidings, I know they also use AC to stable in various of the platforms at Euston despite generally operating out of only one, and I know that these units can be class 710 or class 378, even though the majority of services operating into Euston in passenger service are now class 710. However, I’m sure a cluster of 378s is unusual there. Could anyone shed any light?
It may well be something fairly obvious as I’m not generally up to date on rolling stock news etc, but I always ask, and I always appreciate any responses, so thanks in advance!

Could it be be down to the ongoing engineering work that means there is no service from Surrey Quays to Clapham Junction?

There is engineering work at Euston this weekend so there was only 2tph to Watford instead of the normal 4tph. There was also a number of platforms closed at Euston, so the spare units couldn't be left there.

There was also a number of platforms closed at Euston, so the spare units couldn't be left there. This might be something to do with it, specifically the part about platform closures. However, that they were all units which mainly work non-Euston routes still seems unusual. Realtime Trains also only shows 2 movements for LO at the sidings on Saturday 17th, so… the mind increasingly boggles!
