Something i've wondered about for a long time - to my knowledge there are a handful of underground or overground stations that still do not have roundels: Stratford on the central line and overground; Barking on underground or overground; Upminster same; Clapham Junction on overground are the ones I'm aware of.
Is there a particular reason for this? I've assumed it may be something to do with station ownership, but I don't really know anything about how that works. Also, have I missed any?

They are owned by Network Rail and sub let to the appropriate operator. So no roundels.

Yes, station ownership is a major factor. Richmond (District); Wimbledon (District); are others to add
Upminster (Overground) didn't have roundels until recently - having small labels when first transferred.

What an interesting thread. Growing up in Gants Hill, I was used to Stratford not having roundels. I recall East Putney having Network Southeast station names - presumably Southfields and Wimbledon Park had them too, they didn't get roundels until the underground took over the management. I have a lurking thought that one of the W&C platforms at Waterloo doesn't have roundels, but that might be a false memory.

Ha! I should have researched by rewatching my own YouTube film before commenting but...
I feel sure that you are correct, along with East Putney, Southfields and Wimbledon Park also had Network SouthEast signage. An anomaly, perhaps, the reasoning is that these stations lost their regular 'all day' main line services as a WW2 economy but being owned by the Southern Railway they became part of British Railways in 1948.
I think that there are some roundels at Stratford - on the Jubilee line platforms. This station was run by British Rail, but at some stage (possibly when the Jubilee line opened?) management was switched to TfL as it became the transport provider that ran most services calling here. Nowadays almost everything that calls here* is operated by a TfL owned service - Underground / Overground / DLR / Elizabeth line.
Just need Tramlink to complete the steel wheel rail service 'full set'!
*) C2C and Greater Anglia also serve this station

I've got a feeling that TfL didn't take over management of Stratford until the TfL Rail era, but I could be wrong. They've definitely had staff there since at leas the JLE opened though.

The middle platforms are still under Network Rail control from a maintenance point of view. There are TfL Rail and Greater Anglia staff too.

Stratford was interesting in my day regards the ticket office. It was manned by British Rail staff but had Rapid Printers and Mini printers maintained by Underground fitters. The printing plates must have also been supplied by LT from possibly Ezra Road.
When LT took over Bromley By Bow to Upminster, excluding Barking and Upminster, we had nothing to do with BR infrastructure even after West Ham C2C platforms were re-instated.
In the ticket offices a number of BR staff transferred as Chief Clerks. The night foreman shifts between Upney and Upminster Bridge were retained as night working was very unusual on LT. Upminster depot had no night turn crews back in the day. The earliest book on was about 5.15am coinciding with the first BR train arriving from Southend.

The Underground ticket offices at Stratford are now closed but Greater Anglia have one at either end of the station.
