Queensbury - LU own the road 'Queensbury Circus' where that sign still stands today.

Is that a quote from Mr Curling? ;D No - it was slightly too articulate and thought through though ;D It was because the Met. built the station and the buildings above it. As Queensbury was effectively countryside at the time the Met. built some roads around the station.

I'm not saying anything about whether any of you are correct or not, but the Met chose to call the area "Queensbury" simply because it fits nicely with "Kingsbury" one stop down the line.

The original Queensbury station was opened by London Transport in 1934 and the original wooden platforms were replaced in the art deco rebuild sometime later!

Barnes Nature Reserve thingymajigg for the background, the rotunda can be Southgate. I'm not going to argue/agree/disagree with anyone! ;D
