As this is the anniversary of the quiz, there will be a longer preamble than normal - just scroll down if you don't want to see read my waffle! The quiz is 1 year old today (although the 365th image will be posted tomorrow, due to the two days off over Christmas). I never anticipated it continuing this long, my initial thought was that I probably had enough pictures to run it every other month until August - little did I know it would run every month for an entire year, with no sign of it stopping soon! Click here to see how it all startedThis isn't just my quiz though - it has been the effort of many people. Aspect, Robster and SE13 are the main players with the latter two doing the hard work of bringing the questions to you each day for several months now. Additionally I need to thank everyone who has taken photos for the quiz. In alphabetical order the following people have had at least one photograph published in the quiz between February last year and yesterday: Alex Aspect ATO Chris M Dave72 David(UD) DStock18 Eileen [my friend and landlady, who isn't even a member of this forum!] JoinTheDots Mackenzieblu Spooky Mark MRFS Rob Robster Solidbond TMBA Tom I do hope I haven't missed anyone (please let me know if I have), but I wasn't as meticulous about credits in the early days. I haven't kept a list of who has answered questions, but I need to thank you all as well. I enjoy running the quiz, and its your continued participation that enables me to carry on! -----end of waffle----- Today's quiz comes in the form of a one-part image with a bonus question: What is the significance of the locations? Left is certainly Willesden Green Northbound with inner home in view. There used to be a crossover at this point if I remember correctly! Not sure about the right side photo.

Yes, I think the right hand side (and the overbridge) are Gunnersbury, taken from a point just east of the station.

I think the big one at the back is Baker St. and possibly 4 (maybe 5) images are in the mix.

I don't think its Baker Street-the building isn't tall enough. There is a (Green lampost - Brent council) and it appears to be at a similar height to the building. Mind you I could be totally wrong!!

I can only see three images - and agree that the bridge across the middle and the right side of the image is Gunnersbury.
As to the significance?
Hmm........total stab in the dark - they've all appeared in the quiz before?

Colin's answer to the bonus question is incorrect - I'll leave it open for now. There are only two images here, I can understand why some of you can see three but I can't figure out five! The bridge and right hand side are Gunnersbury viewed from Chiswick High Road - Rich 32 was the first to get this part. (click for a larger version) The remainder of the image is Willesden Green viewed from the 1938 stock unit on its tour of the Jubilee line. Swedishblue gains the kudos that comes with being the first to get this correct, (click for a larger version)

There are actually enough clues within the thread to be able to solve the bonus questions.....

Is it anything to do with crossovers being removed?

Is it anything to do with crossovers being removed? No. Without giving too much away, there is a clue in the initial post, and a further clue in the answer post.

Something to do with signals? Was Gunnersbury the last place to remove semophore signals and Willesden Green the first to remove them?

Um, poss completely wrong, but I always get to these too late to be able to answer & if this one is still open I fancy a go!
From Gunnersbury station on the Overground heading north, first station from there that connects back to the toob network is Willesden Green?

Nope. Willesden Green isn't on the Overground network and the first connection to the tube north of Gunnersbury is the Bakerloo at Willesden Junction.

Is it something to do with the direction of the running lines? At Willesden Green the two tracks in view were up and down local lines! Not sure about Gunnersbury!

Nothing to do with roads either. As SE13 has said, its' related to this forum more than to the railway.

That's close enough!
Gunnersbury was indeed the closest station to the first forum meet. I know there was a meeting at Earl's Court, but I can't remember whether there was one at Gunnersbury as well - I arrived late thanks to First Great Western.
